House 4

House 4 - The Worse Kind of Bad

This was the first movie I rated via the Negative Rad system.

*Negative Rad was created when I was 16 or 17 and involved me and my friends rating really bad movies (as we watched them) a la Mystery Science Theater. Although, I believe our system of rating movies and talking aloud during the film predates MST3000, but if not it was around the same exact time.

And we didn't just make fun of it - we had pen and paper and scored it along the way. Giving - or + points as saw fit. Sometimes things so terrible would get positive points, because they were so terrible.

My original score for this movie was - 490.

I always wondered why I had originally scored this so low, so I told myself I would need to re-score it at some point in time. Unfortunately, as you will see based on my score, the time .. was now.

I scored this movie with my friend Clove who knows bad movies. She made me watch Troll 2 before watching Best Worst Movie ... and it was totally worth it.

Negative Rad Summary: The basic problem with this movie (that I didn't remember from my original viewing) is that it's boring. It also feels like a made for tv movie (complete with garbage soap opera-ish music) and doesn't get horror movie-ish until 30-40 mins in. And it feels like a LONG 30-40 mins.
